I often wonder, why does most of humanity feel the need for a spirit that, in their minds, is all-seeing, all-knowing, yet only answers certain prayers, but they choose this entity to rule their lives and their thinking. I just don't get it.
I feel I have lived a good and decent life, helping others along the way. But I never felt the need for some unknown entity to help me. I made my decisions and suffered the consequences of them. So of course, with me being an atheist and all, I have to wonder how people come to believe in their own "god"? I mean there are probably about 1500 or so "gods"! How did you chose? Was it what you were taught by your parents, that their parents taught them, and so forth. I wonder! I don't spend all of my life in fear of heaven or hell, simply because of someone who went to a bible college and says he communes with "god" and you will go to hell if you don't listen to him! I will enjoy what life I've had or will have in the future without living in fear every day and guiding my life because of it. No thanks! Peace be with you all in the new year! dennismoconnor.com Comments are closed.
