In 1930 my mother, having been born in 1918 and being 12 years old, was given a Kodak Brownie box camera on the 50th anniversary of Kodak. I still have that camera to this day.
The other day I was gifted with a darkroom setup for developing and printing film. With that setup, I hope to bring that camera back to life. When I was young, I remember developing film and enjoying it immensely. I would photograph all kinds of events in my life and today I hope to find negatives of my youth in a box of old photos my mother saved. Most of all I hope to find negatives of my grandparents cottages that I lived in on Treasure Island Florida. You can't imagine the thrill that would give me, as I have been unable to find any pictures of those cottages in the past years. I wish to thank Al and Melody for the possibility of bringing my past back to reality and I will, if possible, show you the results. My mother gave me that camera to use when I was about 10, as she knew I was interested in photography. I set up my darkroom in the bathroom and, quite frankly, became good at it. But that was 60+ years ago, so I have some catch-up learning to do. Onward and upward! As always, may peace find it's way to your door. dennismoconnor.com Comments are closed.
