I know that people lose loved ones every single day, whether it be through tragedy, health, whatever reason, it's never easy, and I wish it didn't have to be that way, but we all have an expiration date stamped on our butts by the person who delivers us into the world.
I lost my best friend and brother of 47 years last week, and Faye and I say periodically "I can't believe he's really gone". I went through mostly good times with him, maple sugaring, fishing, hunting, camping and whatever else came along. We were brothers of different mothers. I haven't thought too much about it this past week, but today was different. I can't go visit to talk or play cribbage or cuss at him! For those that never met Lucien, I wish you had. He was one hell of a good person. He loved all who passed his way and didn't have a mean bone in his body. He was gentle but firm. He taught everything to his children, his grandchildren, and was starting on his great grandchildren. He lived to be 80, which is a good long life, just never long enough. I and all who knew him will miss him greatly, but he will live forever in our hearts. Lou, we will always love you! May peace be with you. dennismoconnor.com Comments are closed.
