I hope all of you out there that voted for Herr Trump truly understand that by continuing to believe the garbage he is feeding you, you will soon find yourself standing in a stadium listening to marching and patriotism music being played over a vast array of speakers that will not allow a missed word! Anything contrary to what they want you to believe is "fake". You will have your hands outstretched in an upward slant and yelling "Sieg Heil, king trump".
Oop's, my bad. You're already doing that! I forgot about the fact that you religiously go to his rallies and swear allegiance to him. Reminds me of someone else that existed about 85 years ago! Don't think it can't happen here, because it has already started.
If you don't see what is happening in this country day after day, you are either naturally or willfully blind!
I can picture living in a concentration camp, with  inhumane guards who care nothing about their fellow man, "They're just following orders".
America is rotting from within, starting from DC all the way to the borders, and you are part of the problem because you refuse to use your brain and think for yourself. You must have a guru, a minister, a pundit, anyone for that matter, to tell you what you must think. THAT SUCKS, BIG TIME!
I'd hate to live my life without being able to think for myself. Try it, you'll like it!

Anyone who really knows me understands that I am a very deep thinker, but I do my research.
The past several years have been probably the most stressful due to the fact that I follow my gut instincts formed by the information that I  pull in.
I don't have a very good outlook for the future of mankind.
We have changed our planet so much in the past 100 years that it is not recognizable anymore to a person like me. Climate change, dying oceans and coral reefs, polluted waters and land and air.  Deny it all you wish, but the reality is, it's here, and probably irreversible.
When I was growing up, we didn't have TV until I was a teenager. 3 channels!  And then they signed off at midnight!
Party lines on the phone, if you had one. I was fortunate enough to have been born into the time and place that I was!
Someone said to me tonight "it's the instant technology that is ruining lives. It's both parents having to work to support their chosen (or sometimes not chosen ) lifestyles".
I am often amazed at the ability of many young people to adapt to the right path. I look at the young adults at Parkland as an example. They chose to follow their instincts and fight for their lives. And they did it in a calm and straightforward way. Hopefully they started something big. Time will tell.
You must understand that your life can change in an instant. Are you doing your share to bring sanity back into the brains of mankind? Are you helping someone in need of a hand? I don't necessarily mean monetarily. I mean personal commitment. If you are, I applaud you. If not, try it, it feels good!
As my grandfather and many other grandfathers before him said, boy, use that head of yours for more than a hat rack!

I have ranted many times about the pharmaceutical industry
and the healthcare industry as a whole, but tonight while watching 60 Minutes I got a whole new perspective of how screwed up it is. The drug used in a shot of Naloxone, which will save the life of an overdose victim, costs about 5 cents per dose to manufacture. Yet the purchase costs to administer a single dose can be anywhere from $15.00 to $8,000. A great deal of the cost factor is the companies themselves and middlemen called Pharmacy Benefit Managers. If they can't make a decent markup, they will not fill the prescription. So for the cost of the drug (5 cents) and a syringe (probably 25 cents), these companies and PBM's will let people die from opioid overdoses. Emergency Services (city paramedic services and hospitals) pay the inflated costs and who ends up paying those costs? You do.
Our entire system of healthcare delivery in this country is managed by GREED, and the professionals who have to work within this system are just as frustrated as we are, if not more.
We are being ripped off and have been for quite some time.
Don't you think it's time to do something about it?
Medicare for all, not going backwards and stripping Medicare to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy!

I am reading today the comments about RCV and peoples opposition to it. I happen to agree with it. Others don't, saying that it's not the will of the people as far as first round votes. I found it to be a fair way of ranking choices, and if you choose not to rank choices or choose to mark all the boxes for the same candidate, you still are given that choice. I ran as an independent in this past election for the Maine State House. RCV was not used in state elections this time, but I sincerely hope it will be implemented for the simple reason that it gives common people without the resources of the 2 parties a chance of participating in their government. I could never have matched the money and infrastructure of the 2 parties. And yes, I have believed for a long time that the system is heavily weighted towards Party candidates who DO have the backing, meaning force fed or the lesser of two evils. The 2 party system is corrupt and will continue to be until we use a better method that levels the field for everyone. The 2 major parties have too much power over our politics. Just observe the past and you will see it. Party line politics are dividing and killing our beloved country! That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!

A friend tonight told me that as far as my last few posts, I have sounded depressed. I assure you , I am not.
Did my loss set me back a bit? Sure. But like any other time, I bounce back.
As I sat here tonight with my wife and daughter, I realized again how fortunate I am. I have a family that loves me, I have friends that trust me enough to vote for me, and I have good health. What more could you ask for?
Cherish the moments that you have in life, make each day the best it can be, and remember, Life is short. You only get one shot. Make it the best you can!

What is your vision of America?
Is it helping one another because they have fallen on hard times, or is it "it's mine, I earned it, I'm not giving a dime more than I have to"?
Is it assuring that we can all see a doctor when we are ill, or is it "universal healthcare is Socialism at it's worst, let  them pay their own way or die"?
Is it helping others to stay warm in winter or is it "let them freeze, they should have planned better for their future"?
Is it food stamps for the hungry or is it "I've got a full stomach, what do I care if they starve"?
Is it education for the new generations or is it "I don't have kids in school, why should I have to pay"?
You can choose one of 2 paths. You can be greedy and say "it's mine, I earned it, let them do the same and get a job", or you can be kind to one another and live according to your so-called Christian beliefs, standards which many today profess, but fail to live by.
I see this country following those paths. Hateful and greedy
or loving and helpful. Which one are you?
Corporations and multi-billionaires get all the breaks while you and I make do on the scraps. Don't you think it's time for a change?
Do you actually believe that whatever deity you choose to believe in would want you to act the way you do towards others?
For those of you that choose the helpful path, I applaud you! For the rest, try thinking to yourself if you, for any reason, should end up on the short end, would you like to be treated they way you treat others.
It's time for self-reflection in this country, because many of you are completely out of step with reality! You may not see yourself in that, but others do.
People are dying every day because we cannot make the decisions that will prevent it from happening. It must change!
Be kind to others, because you never know when you may be in their position.

The systems in this country are broken.
Our method of electing officials is badly broken. It is open to manipulation, suppression of minorities, suppression of felons who have paid their dues, handling and counting of ballots, and many others.
Our healthcare system is badly broken, and the Republicans are doing all they can to stop a system where everyone is covered, all in the name of more money for them.
Now we have an acting Attorney General with dubious credentials and an illegal appointment , passing judgement on others and placed there for the sole reason of protecting dump. We are possibly on the road to recovery, but there has been a lot of damage already and it's not January yet.
The lame-duck session will be all-out war on the principles we hold dear, so be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.
Between the major corporations, the military-industrial complex, Big Pharma, Congress and Republican lawmakers, you don't stand a chance, yet some of you will never learn. You keep electing the same idiots to the Senate. At least we regained the House and some semblance of being able to slow this hell down!
But we are nowhere near having it under control, until some of these people start getting their indictments and convictions. Then we may be able to take a deep breath and feel a bit more comfortable. Until then, I don't feel very confident.

The journey has come to it's inevitable end. What I hoped for did not happen.
I am tired but satisfied, that I tried my best but was not successful. To all those who believed in me, you have my gratitude and my respect. I believe I did whatever I could to push for success, the people thought otherwise. I accept the results, but if I had to look back and say "would I do it any differently" the answer is no. I talked to people, I explained myself and my positions, and many responded, just not enough. So I will go on with my life, hoping for the best, while knowing that this country is still in deep trouble because of it's divisions.
The republican Party will now do everything in it's power to strip rights and benefits from the poor while enriching their donors, and the Democrats will do what they can to stop them, meaning another 2 years of deadlock.
The only hope I gained from this election is that the House will now properly investigate the tyrant residing in the White House and bring about his demise. If not, this form of governance is doomed.
So prepare yourselves, the nightmare is not over, it has just begun it's second phase, because now there will be more unqualified people running it.
Until trump is brought down, this country will hate each other, there will be more killings by madmen nationalists, and others rights will be taken.
Welcome to the world of dystopia!

Well, it's Monday night, the final night before the election!
Spent my day repairing wind damage to all my signs and getting ready for tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be spent at the polls, greeting voters. And then it's party night at the Millhouse Pub. Whatever the outcome, I am very pleased and proud of how I ran this campaign. Many people that I know of have faith in me and are voting for me. To them I owe my gratitude.
So tonight I try to get some rest and tomorrow I end this journey.  To all those new people in my life, again, I thank you for your faith and help!

It's 2 AM and I can't sleep. The rain is coming down harder and my mind won't let go of the run up to the election on Tuesday. I usually think of many things at the same time but tonight I'm thinking of the people (and I say "people" because that's what they are) who are trekking thousands of miles from the only homeland they have ever known to an uncertain future in a place they've never been, all because of rich, egotistical assholes that only care about money ( and the ability to take what they want from people who can't defend themselves) and power!
We have entered a new zone in America that I don't believe, at least in my lifetime, has ever been this ignorant and selfish. When will we, as loyal Americans, ever learn that the politics of today are designed to do a reverse Robin Hood, the poor being robbed by the rich?
If you don't see it, you are either blind or have chosen to be blind, because it's easier than facing your true self.
I am not blind! I see what is being done and has been done for the past 40 years, a complete takeover of the financial markets and control of the Legislative and Executive branches of our government. And the process is almost done. If we don't stop it here and now, we never will get another chance. Think about  that for awhile and then go vote between now and Tuesday. It's critical!

I only have one thing to say tonight, and that is if you don't vote Tuesday, don't bitch to me or anyone else about how bad things are, because you will have no one to blame but yourself.
I've done my part, now you have to do yours. Vote like your life and your livelihood depend on it, because I can guarantee that they do!
If you think the past tax scam was bad, just wait till they start ripping apart Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
We can no longer afford people who are beholden to the autocrats and corporations. People are already dying because of what the present administration is doing, think of how many more will follow if this is not stopped in it's tracks.
It's not some migrant caravan that will take you out, it will be your own government! Think about that!
