Folks, if you don't think this country is in mortal danger of collapse into tyranny, think again!
We have an autocratic lunatic in the WH, who will stop at nothing to get his way! We have white nationalists taking over our police forces, who are being allowed to let brother nationalists kill innocent protesters and judges who allow that killer to have a month to turn himself in. We have top cops - the sherrif and police chief-- who say that the victims " shouldn't have been out after curfew" so they brought this upon themselves! I will ask again "what does it take" before you realize you are being used? The world I have known my entire life has disappeared before my eyes in the past 4 years. We used to care for one another. No more! We fought Nazi's on foreign soil, not here! This game is getting serious, in fact it's beyond serious. We may not make it to the November elections, what with all the lunatics out there! They are very close to dismantling our system of government and democracy. But many of you choose, for some unknown reason, to not see it! Believe me when say it, you will come to regret your blind allegiance to DJT and his minions. I guaranty it! As always, may peace find it's way to you. dennismoconnor.com As I lay in bed this morning, I was dreaming, and it was very vivid. To me, the human brain is an amazing piece of work. I am able to envision many things, especially designing things. I can move parts around until they fit, including stories. Which brings me to my point. In today's political and social environment, we are so easily manipulated and led to believe what our brains think is reasonable. Makes no difference whether it is correct or not, if it seems reasonable or possible, it can become truth. Unless you have a critical-thinking brain like mine. I dissect everything, I don't have ideas that can't be changed. I am open to new ideas all the time, as my philosophy is forever changing with the times. What I may have believed many years ago can change with the times, because the times change and you must adapt to the present or you will be left behind. With age comes wisdom. I see the anger and hatred of pitting one race against another as a sign of weak minds and their thinking processes being manipulated by propaganda, meant to affect changes in society to benefit the ones in power in order to maintain that power. And many fall for it. Too many! Yet you have the power to change, you simply refuse to use it. I cannot imagine how others think, because I am not capable of thinking with a closed mind. But I know that even I have ingrained remnants of my past that guide parts of my life, like it or not. I simply try to override those thoughts if I can. I was raised with little financial comfort (poor), so I am frugal. But I have finally overcome most of that and finally lead a comfortable life in my skin. If nothing else should stick, remember this. None of us have any choice to whom and to what circumstances we are born into. But strip off the skin and it's color and we are all the same! Every single one of us! We are humans ! To berate any of us, we are berating ourselves. You can change if you really want to, but many are too comfortable in their anger to change. For that, I feel sorry for you, because you have no idea what you are missing. Good friendships, interesting life stories, opportunities. Think about it! May peace be with you in your path through life and may you find it in your life to love others for who they are, not what they look like! BLUE TSUNAMI 2020! dennismoconnor.com This election it has been said would be about who has the most enthusiasm. Well, I'm going to do something I am dread to do and that is to watch the Republican answer to what I just finished watching. So much for the "sleepy Joe' bullshit!
I attended the first and second Women;s Marches, the first in DC, the second in Philadelphia. What I noticed more than anything was the enthusiasm factor. Here were people much like me that knew what was about to descend upon us. We knew how bad tRump was going to be for our country. I just don't think any of us thought it would be as bad as it has been. But still, we now have a glimmer of hope for the future in our sights! What I watched the past 4 nights was wonderful, but was also the culmination of that enthusiasm of 2017 and the years after. Did we get knocked around very badly? Yes. But we are a resilient people. We will bring back the dignity and respect for the office of The President of The United States of America! We can afford no less! I have seen that resiliency first hand, I have felt the need to resist tyranny. I ran for public office in 2018 and met many people. I saw the enthusiasm factor in that election and expect to see the continuation of it in this election. Joe Biden is a good and decent man. Kamala Harris is a good and decent woman. Together they will make a great team, just based on the past 3 1/2 years of resistance they have put together. We must end this saga of American History and put it behind us, after we make them all pay for the corruption and desecration of our constitution. Nothing less! May peace finally make it's way back to all of us. dennismoconnor.com Let's talk about the children and Covid!.
Having just spent 2 months with my great grandson, I learned much about his fears. I can't imagine what is going through his mind on a daily basis, but I know it's paramount in his mind. How do you deal with those fears without creating more? We have, for the past 4 years, gone swimming in the condo pool. For 3 days while I was there, he didn't want to swim. I finally convinced him it was safe, but the fear was there. Now imagine what he feels about school! Imagine how all the children feel being forced to attend school in the middle of a deadly pandemic! Fortunately he attends a small private school, where he has been since he was 1, but that doesn't eliminate his fears. Now picture children attending public schools. I know I would be frightened! I don't know what the answer is, I just know the fear is there and affecting them in ways we don't know yet. So bear with them and listen to them. Thanks to all and may peace find it's way to your doorstep! dennismoconnor.com We have once again reached a point in time where gullibility and naivete reign supreme in our population. Much of this is due to the fact that the average person cannot or will not think for themselves, thereby requiring that someone else do their thinking for them so they are not responsible for the outcome of their decisions. This usually leads to an authoritarian figure controlling you, whether it be a "president or a "preacher". BAAAAH!
I know I go on about this, but it is true! Take religion for example. You are indoctrinated from birth to believe in a fictional being who will make the hard decisions for you and will always be there to guide you. Yet the fallacies of this thinking will haunt you, because you are unable to see the differences in everyday life. If two families, neighbors, attend the same church together, why do you say god saved me if a tornado kills the family next door, but spares you? Are you any better than the family next door? Which brings me to my point today. You are being led like you are a dog on a leash with a choke collar and you are blindly following into absolute disaster. What will it take before you see this? You are in a cult, much like the followers of Jim Jones and you have sipped the Kool-aid, you just haven't swallowed it yet. Death is on your doorstep, but you refuse to believe it. Covid is real, but you say it's not. Wearing a mask is an infringement on my rights! I don't care about others I come in contact with! Let them wear the mask! Financial ruin is on your doorstep, but you refuse to believe it. Millions out of work with no help, no future jobs, losing their homes, no food! But you don't care, it hasn't affected you yet! You still believe that DJT is the second coming of christ. If this fits the scenario that you live by, I truly feel sorry for you, For you will never find true peace. True peace will never be found in a book nor can it be found because you go to church on Sunday. It must come from within, knowing that you live a decent life not out of fear but in spite of it! This country has always been and always will be a country of immigrants. Our ancestors stole it from the original immigrants, our ancestors enslaved others to do their dirty work and our present day system has made slaves of all of us except for a privileged few. We are slaves to the almighty dollar and the wealthy own us because of it! I really don't see any light at the end of the tunnel, because we refuse to change. Many more will die soon, whether it be from the virus, hunger or violence. Only you have the ability to change it! VOTE BLUE THE ENTIRE TICKET! And may peace find it's way to you! dennismoconnor.com I fear that I am slowly but surely reaching the point of no return. I fear this because when I don't really give a shit about what happens to the idiots that still believe in DJT, I have given up on America.
I consider myself to be among the more fortunate of this country, because I worked hard in my younger years and used my knowledge and talents to be secure in my old age. Many did not have that opportunity. My wife and I moved to Maine 15 years ago and bought a house with acreage, so now we have shelter, water in 2 wells, wood for heat and gardens to grow food. We have turkey and deer around us. Plus we owe nothing to anyone. Barring any unforeseen disasters, we are good to go. But many others-- too many in fact-- do not have that security, which will eventually make us targets when the economy fully collapses, which may not be long! If you live in a large city with no place to go or have no means to get there, you are screwed! No food, no place to live, on the streets with no job or means to make money, you're screwed. But don't come looking my way, because I don't care any more. If you are dumb enough to vote for that asshole as your "savior" you deserve what you get. As always, may peace find it's way to you! dennismoconnor.com I don't understand, but for some reason this morning I feel compelled to write about god or gods, whatever the case may be.
As most know, I am an atheist. I have chosen to believe that way because I cannot fathom why anyone needs a fictional entity created by man to control the masses through fear of the unknown. I don't fear the unknown. In fact, I have learned not to fear most anything. Your thoughts are controlled by you. We all need to believe in something to guide us through life's trials and tribulations. I understand that. but to turn your life and thinking processes over to a fictional being so that you are not responsible for the decisions you make in life is, in my opinion, ludicrous. I will not knock your right to believe. I will not knock the fact that most believers believe that way because they were raised in the church and you tend to hang on to what you are taught from birth. It's called indoctrination. But what I will knock is the thought that I can't lead a completely moral life without assistance from a fictional being. I have lived a very moral life by most standards, which is more than I can say about the moral decay occurring among believers in today's society. Where is the "love thy neighbor" crowd when it comes to bigotry towards anyone who isn't white and christian? Where is the "do unto others" crowd when it comes to poverty and despair? Generally, they are at the "I've got mine, get your own" trough. And I do, in a certain sense, understand those feelings. But does that mean we have no obligation to try to help? I don't think so! I have tried, to the best of my ability, to stand for others in my life. I have tried to be generous with my time and knowledge. But that is me and who I am. Do I make mistakes along the way? Of course I do. Do I correct them as best I can? Sure. And it doesn't mean I won't make more. I'm still alive and human! All I wish is that supposed believers who profess their faith in a god would live by the standards they try to set for others according to the way they themselves believe. I don't see that happening today in any way. Today it's a dog-eat-dog world, primarily because of the people we elect to lead us falling off the rails and stealing everything for themselves. It will end, soon. We are on the precipice and in many ways I don't think we can fall back. Time will tell! But in the meantime, vote those miserable thieves out of the office they hold and put some decent people in their places, if you can find any that aren't already corrupt! May peace find it's way to your door and may you have a great day. dennismoconnor.com |
