Have you ever thought to yourself "Why am I who I am?"
Think about it when you look at someone who you think is different.
Because one little sperm out of millions was able to find one tiny egg (which could have been 2 or 3), you became you.
The same goes for all of us, because we all became us in the same way.
Now, change any tiny fraction of what I just said and you are no longer you. You are a completely different person.
People born into poverty don't choose to, it just happens.
People born into wealth don't choose to, it just happens.
None of us has any choice as to where or how we are born.
We do have the choice of how we live our lives after we are born!
Consider this when you decide to hate another because someone told you to.
If you are wealthy, you look down on others with hatred and suspicion!
If you are poor, you look up at others with hatred and suspicion!
Yet we are all basically the same except for the provenance of our birth. Think about that the next time you decide to down someone else and maybe somehow we can find common ground!
Peace out, all. I'm going to try to somehow get to sleep this morning, before the rooster crows!
If you could realize that every day that passes, every 24 hours you are alive takes you 1 day closer to your demise, would it change your perspective on life?
It changed mine!
I watched an old clip of George Carlin tonight in an interview with Charlie Rose and it made me feel that the way I think isn't as far out as I thought. He was talking about how he had finally given up on man as a species and how he had simply said "fuck it, I don't care any more. what will be will be" And how he figured since man wasn't going to change his ways, he would, and sit back and watch the fun.
That's basically where we are as a species. I think I'm going to sit back and watch the show. If I'm fortunate and take care of myself, I may just hang around another 15 or 20 years to see what happens.
You see, basically I am a realist. I see things for the way they are, not how I wish they were. I sometimes see the future by reasoning out what is going on around me and , using logic, visualize what may happen down the road. It's really quite easy if you have an inquisitive mind. Everything tells you something , if you observe and listen. Most people won't.
I see a crumbling country, a crumbling world, a dog-eat-dog world where everyone is for themselves. You've seen the movies. Mad Max, Waterworld, The Day After Tomorrow and many others.
In this inter-dependent economy, all it will take is one stupid move and the dominoes will fall.
Don't be the one to push that first domino!
Peace be with you as long as you are with us!
Some days lately I find it hard to rise from the comfort of my bed, just to face the same shit that no one seems to be able to stop.
Our "civilization", in my opinion, is on the verge of collapse. We no longer care about one another, we have allowed criminals to take over our government, we are dying from lack of access to healthcare or needed medications, our food chain is in danger of implosion, our lands are spoiled by poisons and cancerous chemicals, our air is badly polluted with who knows what chemicals and toxins, our oceans are full of plastic trash that is killing everything in them, yet we do not seem to care. When does it end? With death? With suffering?
I for one am sick of waiting for the inevitable. I intend, for the next several years, to grow my gardens and freeze-dry foods that are chemical free and nutritious, that will keep for many years. I intend to try to go off-grid electrically with solar power. I have 2 wells. I have 12 acres of firewood. My home is good for at least 20 years. What are you doing?
I am seriously thinking of dropping out of Facebook and other sites, as the only thing I see any more is criminality and complaints about what we should do but don't.
I can't live among people like that. I cannot be friends with people like that, who care about no one but themselves.
Yes, I am down today, but I will get back up What about you? Are you going to do something about your own lives?
Our country is on it's deathbed, what are you going to do to bring it back from the precipice?
As always, I wish you peace.
Nowadays everyone seems to self-identify to some label, be it Republican, Democrat, Independent, Socialist, Nationalist, you get my drift.
I don't really care what you identify as, it's what you actually believe in that really matters. Today, we are on the precipice of a long, deep hole, into which if we fall we will not come back out.
We as Americans, no, humans are on the verge of losing something that we cannot recover, and that is our dignity and humanity towards one another. We cannot continue to treat each other the way we do. We kill in the name of your god, we kill because of the color of your skin, we kill because you may love another of your own gender, we kill because of anger because we feel threatened by your politics, we kill for money, we kill for fun. I don't know about you, but I have seen some dark shit posted online in the past few years.
Why do we do this? Why do we allow others to form our opinions for us? We do this every minute of every day.
I will say that I mostly identify as an independent thinking, progressive democratic.
I am finally content with my position in life. Having just read an article about man always striving for more, reaching for goals simply because you need more in life, I am beginning to understand why people are not happy, they're just locked into not being happy with what they already have .
The author cited a study where they gave people pagers (1980's) and asked them 2 questions to be written down when the pager went off. #1 was on a scale of 1-10 how happy are you at the moment? #2 was what is going on in your life to make you feel this way?
Most of the time, it was a 7. It went up or down but always ended up at 7.
I have been there, much like many of you. Fortunately, I believe I have arrived at a 9 most of the time. I am content with my position in life for the first time. I no longer hunger for more, no longer need more. Life is not perfect, but I'm close.
I stopped chasing rainbows years ago and now enjoy the pleasure each day brings me. Happiness with family and friends, financially stable, (fortunately), spending time teaching my beloved great grandson and enjoying his company! What more do I need?
I wish the same for all the people in my life and may it come before you die. It took me 65 years to understand how rich I am with just what I have.
May peace find YOU and may you have a great day!
Those of you who know me know I try not to mince words when it comes to politics. However, with that being said, I am going to change how I describe 45 and his crew. I will no longer call them idiots, because quite frankly they know what they are put in place to do and that is to destroy the institutions they are placed in charge of. And they are going about it in the right way by destroying peoples trust in any government! The present administration is the most corrupt I have seen in my lifetime and if you don't see it, it's because you choose not to! Our National Debt has risen by almost 2 trillion dollars, our trade deficits have risen by almost a trillion dollars and all because of foolish decisions by the present administration. THIS IS BY DESIGN! The Billionaires are making their end run to dominate the peasants, complete control of the financial world and complete control of our government! Clearly, these are not idiots, they are White Nationalists, which is why I wrote this in the first place. Our police forces have been thoroughly militarized and infiltrated by White Nationalists. Our government is controlled by White Nationalists! Therefore I am disavowing my standing as an "OLD WHITE MALE" as I am not white, I am light tan! I will stand with those who are being left out in the cold because of greed and gluttony or hatred of other religions. And if by chance you are an idiot, I will call you such! May you all have a great day and may peace be within you.
I have decided to renew my website and continue in my fight for justice for the common man in America. Hopefully I have not lost too many of you in the interim.
