I am what I would refer to as an observer. I observe everything in the vicinity of me. And I see things others don't.
Take for example the crisis in Texas. We know the climate is changing. Deny all you wish, but it's catching up to the negligence of our paid employees and advisers, ( politicians). They are now probably so far behind that they may never catch up. Their system is run for profit and in order to make more profit for their investors, they cut corners BIG time and found their system is not up to competing with extreme cold. It froze everything. Gas lines, water lines, turbines. Think of the lives, property and bad experience they are going through. Now multiply that by hundreds and you will see what the future is bringing. We are probably past the point of no return and what will come we deserve. We have destroyed our atmosphere in the pursuit of money and pleasure. And throw in GREED. I have said for many years that we are vulnerable to our energy supplies, be it water, gas, coal, oil, nuclear, you name it. Everything on this planet of any major impact is dependent upon energy. strip that and this planet and it's people will die Texas is only a test. How we reply to it is really the test. If we fail, we are dead. On that note, have a great night and may you find peace! dennismoconor.com It's been awhile since I've felt like writing, since asshole is gone, but here goes.
I have been sitting here with a good buzz going while listening to music, after having had a conversation tonight about old country music and the artists who performed it. Well anyway, I decided to listen to Woodie Guthrie' and Roy Orbison. Big mistake but wonderful experience. As I listen to them, I am actually learning more of the lyrics as compared to the time that they were written. The historical aspect is amazing. Being the age i am, with the depression and dust bowls I can place the time and desperation of the period. I can also visualize what these people were going through. I don't know about you, but I can visualize each singers life from their music. You see, I was born in 1947, so of course I was raised on fifties and sixties music, But put that in contrast to the music from the twenties and early thirties. We had it made, we were born into prosperity. They, they had nothing but the clothes on their backs. Yet they lived history through their music. And if you listen, really listen, you will hear their existence in a very different way. I listen to these wonderful voices and realize that most are already dead, yet their voices carry on. Can you imagine having a legacy like that? Getting back to the history aspect, listen to the music and discover a different period of life. Listen to today's music and it reveals little except this time period is brutal. Yet somewhere down the road, someone will listen and say to themselves " those people didn't think they were going to survive". Well we will survive and flourish. There's a new Sheriff in town and he's taking prisoners! Have a great day and cherish those that you love and love you, we're only here for a short period. Love to all. dennismoconnor.com |
