I know that people lose loved ones every single day, whether it be through tragedy, health, whatever reason, it's never easy, and I wish it didn't have to be that way, but we all have an expiration date stamped on our butts by the person who delivers us into the world.
I lost my best friend and brother of 47 years last week, and Faye and I say periodically "I can't believe he's really gone". I went through mostly good times with him, maple sugaring, fishing, hunting, camping and whatever else came along. We were brothers of different mothers. I haven't thought too much about it this past week, but today was different. I can't go visit to talk or play cribbage or cuss at him! For those that never met Lucien, I wish you had. He was one hell of a good person. He loved all who passed his way and didn't have a mean bone in his body. He was gentle but firm. He taught everything to his children, his grandchildren, and was starting on his great grandchildren. He lived to be 80, which is a good long life, just never long enough. I and all who knew him will miss him greatly, but he will live forever in our hearts. Lou, we will always love you! May peace be with you. dennismoconnor.com I direct this at Republican voters because I would like some answers to many questions.
Why is it that whenever a politician is accused of sexual assault, graft, corruption, stupid statements that are completely and morally laughable, 99% of the time it's a Republican? I don't understand. Is this how you think or process your world, or is it that you are so tied to your beliefs that you can't see anything but your own world view. Are you so determined that your view is the correct one, that you can't entertain anything other than that? Can you not tell the the difference between lies and facts? Or do you simply not care? I could not live my life by those standards! My mind is always open for a "discussion" about life decisions and their consequences. Why aren't yours? The people involved in the running of our government are a criminal syndicate, formed over the past 40 years or so and started by the election of Ronald Reagan, who summarily began the dismantling and crippling of our system of governance, instead directing all the benefits to the upper class. Donald John Trump is a mob boss, nothing more. And his syndicate consists of the people he put in charge to destroy our country. Are YOU good with this? If so, why? This will continue until one of two things happen. Either we as a people come together in peace and destroy them from their evil ways, or we become completely subservient to the ruling class! It's really your choice! Do you continue to listen to the purveyors of lies and extremism on Faux News, or do you actually use your brain for something other than a storage depot for what others want you to think. You can change, but it takes a willingness and an awakening to be able to do this. Are you capable of listening to your inner soul or are you going to continue to be a sheep in the flock of fools. It's your choice, choose wisely! Peace be with you. dennismoconnor.com I too often hear the words "climate change is a hoax". That it is either a natural cycle or not caused by man. Think about that!
We as a world have, in the past 100 years, utilized fossil fuels (which by the way are all carbon based) to fuel the industrial revolution. We today are driven to be a consumer society by the ruling class and the Earth be damned, we need a new iPhone every year. We no longer wear things out, we throw them out, not realizing or caring how they are disposed of. We spray deadly chemicals on our foods so the insects will not eat them, but in the process we are killing ourselves too. We are poisoning our soils forever, non-reversible, along with the waterways that soil drains into. Many areas of our country are so badly poisoned that people have been dying for years because of it, yet we sell water rights for short term gain in local budgets to corporations just so they can sell it back to us in plastic bottles. Where is the sense in that? When most people think climate change, they think of local conditions that they can see, not the overall picture. Climate change, drought in particular, dries out the vegetation and land to the point where it can no longer sustain life and becomes tinder-dry, which of course leads to massive burns that obliterate everything in it's path. Climate change is real, whether you wish to believe it or not, and it is caused by man and his habits. Take for example the drought conditions in Australia and our own western states. The entire continent of Australia is afire, with upwards of a billion animals lost to it, entire species being obliterated. The Koala's are now driven to the edge of extinction due to the lack of breeding pairs, because of climate change. The Great Barrier Reef is dying due to the warming of the oceans. Plankton, the food of many species of oceanic life, is dying. We have over-fished our oceans to the point of depletion of the fisheries. Yet man in general does not care, because according to them it does not exist. I am not a scientist, but I have lived during the fifties and sixties when this was actually started. We could almost set our clocks by the afternoon rain showers coming off the Gulf of Mexico. Today that does not exist, because we have covered the entire Earth with asphalt and concrete, thereby gathering solar heat all day long and heating the atmosphere to the point where normal storms are completely out of control. Is this what you want for future generations? Because if it is, we will have no future generations. Mankind itself is on the brink of extinction. I have a 7 year old great grandson, who I showed the pictures of Australia to. He was actually scared to the point of crying because he thought it was here. Is this what you want for your future? I know my words are a tiny blip in the scheme of things, but if enough people get involved right now, you might have a chance of saving it. But I doubt that will happen. I personally believe we are already beyond the tipping point, it's only a matter of time. May peace be with you. dennismoconnor.com My observations of what this world has become are not that of the average person, for I have had a lifetime of insight that most people do not.
Donald John Trump is a very sick mentally disturbed individual, but he is really not the main problem. The main problem lies within each and every one of us, for many reasons. The average individual, depending on their circumstances, has no idea how the rest of the world lives, nor do they care. The average individual is so concerned about their own well being that they have no time to even consider the rest of the world. Most people don't even know their neighbor, let alone other cultures, and they have no need to see others as they really are. We all go through the same trials and tribulations, we just don't take the time to get to know others. We blame everyone else for our failure to progress and succeed, yet don't realize that we collectively are not the real problem. We are failing to invest in the future of our planet, our home in the universe, so diverse, yet blindly following the Elites who continue to hold everyone else down, hoard all the value, keep the population dumb so they won't rebel, make them think that everyone else is the source of your woes. Keep the lower classes ignorant and poor. blame other ethnicity's, other religions, other cultures as being the root of their problems, yet all the while stealing you blind. And the sad thing is, you don't wish to see it. You continue on with your hatred and ignorance, your blind allegiance, because to question it would mean for once you must face reality and the truth about yourselves. I have lived 73 years on this Earth and during that time I have met many wonderful, diverse people, simply because I refuse to criticize someone I know nothing about until they reveal themselves to me, whether through talk or actions. My philosophy has always been and always will be that your life is a puzzle, each person entering your life for any reason, good or bad, is a piece of that puzzle. If you outright refuse someone based upon your ideas of what they should or should not be, you have lost a piece of your puzzle and will never be complete. How difficult is it for you to simply give peace a chance, instead of the wars we are carrying out in our minds. Do you really hate someone simply because you perceive them to be inferior to you, not worthy of consideration. I know many of you do and I really find that disturbing. How hollow you must be, how insecure in yourself that you must degrade others to feel good about yourself. You are being taken for the worst ride of your life and you don't see it, nor do you even want to. I truly feel sorry for you, because you are missing the best part of being alive. My biggest problem is you are taking me along with you on that ride and it's not where I want to go. Get one thing through your heads, there are about 1,000 people who own this planet, and you are not one of them. People like Bezos, Zuckerberg, Trump. They could not care less about whether you live or die. Actually, they would prefer you die! Then they would have it all, except the one fault in that is that they would have no one to look down upon, to do their dirty work. Slavery is still very much alive and 99% of the people are bound to it through class or monetary means, and that includes you! Wake up and recognize that you are not perfect, far from it. We are all weak in some way, but do you have to blindly follow that weakness? I don't and I won't! I am stronger than you and I will fight injustice wherever I see it. Maybe you should try it sometime. May peace be upon all of you and may you realize soon that you are wrong. dennismoconnor.com I often wonder, why does most of humanity feel the need for a spirit that, in their minds, is all-seeing, all-knowing, yet only answers certain prayers, but they choose this entity to rule their lives and their thinking. I just don't get it.
I feel I have lived a good and decent life, helping others along the way. But I never felt the need for some unknown entity to help me. I made my decisions and suffered the consequences of them. So of course, with me being an atheist and all, I have to wonder how people come to believe in their own "god"? I mean there are probably about 1500 or so "gods"! How did you chose? Was it what you were taught by your parents, that their parents taught them, and so forth. I wonder! I don't spend all of my life in fear of heaven or hell, simply because of someone who went to a bible college and says he communes with "god" and you will go to hell if you don't listen to him! I will enjoy what life I've had or will have in the future without living in fear every day and guiding my life because of it. No thanks! Peace be with you all in the new year! dennismoconnor.com |
