Tonight I posted an article which, much to my surprise, stirred up a lot of derogatory comments and emotions. I was called a troll, a Bernie bot and many other things. That was a first for me, as I have always been a liberal, a progressive and never voted Republican. What disturbed me most was the quickness in which the opinions were posted and the anger in them.. First of all, I am not a troll and yes, i wanted Bernie in the beginning, but I voted for Hillary. I knew what Trump was from the very beginning, as I have watched how he treated people around him. And quite frankly, Hillary was the most "qualified" candidate, not necessarily the best candidate. I liked much of what Bernie projected, but it was not to be. He is a fighter, to be sure! And he is still stirring things up in his Senate seat. But we have to be realistic. Multi-millionaires will try anything at their disposal to rig, buy or otherwise steal this election. But there are people out there who are qualified, bright, intelligent, and can't be bought. I happen to be one of them. I don't have the luxury of millions of dollars at my disposal, to buy ads and put up posters, but my legs and feet are good and I intend to use them. I hope to visit most of the towns in Maine this summer to talk to people and listen to their concerns. I intend to visit businesses and possibly work a day in their industry to learn their problems. I have always been a problem solver my entire life, I know how to find answers. and that's what we need!
Maine has a history of electing Independents, and I hope I can convince enough people to believe in me to vote for me. But whatever happens, I will continue to fight for the people on the edge, who are one paycheck away from disaster, where one visit to the hospital can lead to bankruptcy, or a child's sickness can throw your entire family into chaos. I've been there, and it's not fun. I am just an average guy who happens to be intelligent and can see a persons soul in the first five minutes talking with them. ,and I've had a lot of experience doing just that.. Thanks for listening. dennismoconnor.com for more on me and my family and thoughts. Comments are closed.
