DENNIS O'CONNOR

I dedicate this page to my great grandson gage

I first met Gage when he was 3 weeks old.
I fed him a bottle and he fell asleep on my chest, marking the beginning of my love affair with him.
To this day, that love goes both ways.
I AM HIS PAPA!
I have had much joy from my relationship with him throughout his short life and I'm looking forward to much more.
So this page will be a chronicle for updates and thoughts about my life with my great grandson.

So Tuesday afternoon, we started our journey back home to Maine for the rest of the year. I always have a difficult time leaving because of my love for my family. But somehow, this year, Gage made it a lot easier.
Gage and I have a game we have been playing for the past several years called simply "let's play on the bed, PaPa". Sometimes we make a tent with the sheet, sometimes we wrestle or he climbs all over me or jumps on me, other times we just talk. When he knew we were leaving the next day, he simply said "I'll miss you tomorrow" to myself and Faye.
Fortunately, we convinced his parents to let him spend christmas with us in Maine this year. Now all he does is talk about shooting my .22 or my .410 shotgun, chop down a tree, decorate it with strands of popcorn, play in the snow and generally just have fun. We are all looking forward to that time, including his mother, as she will get a two week vacation.
He will get to see and play in snow for the first time in his life, with all that goes with it, and spend it with his grandparents and great grandparents.
Love is grand and grandparents are love. May you all sometime in your lives feel that bond.
